Urban Secrets

If many of you guys are like me, you are probably a fan of the Halo series in which case as Reach was the last Halo game the Bungie company was working on, Bungie had placed countless amounts of easter eggs for there players as Bungie has always done the best they could to entertain their fanbase. Here in Urban Secrets today I'll be laying out a few of my favorites. Due to Spoiler issues I will not be posting any pictures so that if your interested you can go out there and experiance it yourself!

Now for some reason I'm not quite sure of Many of these easter eggs are in the "New Alexandria" level of the game.

1. Sgt Buck: Some of you might have played Halo ODST, and if you have you should remember the Captain of the Firefly , also currently fictional author Castle, or as he is known in ODST Sgt. Buck. If you are to play on legendary mode with the IWHBYD skull on. Towards the beggining of the level you'll hear a transmission stating that Sgt. Buck is in need of assistance. From there you are able to assist him as needed, as he leaves you will be easily able to tell that it is Buck himself. For those of you who had played ODST you might have remembered the fact that Buck states that "We made it out of Reach, we can make it out of this."

2.The Brute DJ: Another recognizable easter egg that most might have seen in the Halo Waypoint videos is a Dance party happening in the Reflection level of multiplayer. This will also have to be done on New Alexandria. When it is time to set of the second jammer, the one inside club Reflection. After you have cleared the outside go back into the hornet and ly back to the Hospitol, here you will be searching for a ledge that has two trees on it. This ledge is rather low so it can be a little hard to find, when you do find it you will see a switch, go ahead and activate th switch. You now can return to Reflection, when you enter the club the scene before you will be many dancing grunts and a Brute DJ spinning a remix of the Halo Theme. If you go back outside and fly to the roof a switch will be behind some pipes, if you activate that switch another very familiar song will be playing inside. When your done with this little house party you can go kill the Brute DJ which will then have the song scratch, for some reason the grunts wont stop dancing which makes for some more easy kills!

Well folks I'll save some more easter eggs for a later date, as for now remember to come back and give me a read, spread the words to some friends maybe, or even follow me on twitter! Well thats it for today so keep gaming, keep watching, and break the Limits!

Cosplay of the Day

Some of you might be a bit too young to know this character, however i believe that many of you will know Ms. Taiga Aisaka, also known as the "Palmtop Tiger". Heed my warning though folks this cosplay is not too well done, so for the very first time, dear readers, I will let the gauntlets loose.

To be honest I'm not sure where to start with where I have problems, could it be the fact there her coat is the wrong shade of red, or the fact that her shirt doesn't follow the shows dress code, maybe frayed hairs coming off the side of her wig, or the obvious Photoshop that went into this? No, its a compilation of everything on the list. Let's start off with the picture itself, When submitting a picture of cosplay to a cosplay website, one should make sure to show off the entire costume at work, not a head-shot that could be mistaken for a Facebook profile picture. As with the costume itself, from what we get to see of it that is, I can only get the sense that the cosplayer had simply looked in their closet and thought "oh a red sweater and a whit shirt, I'm set to be Taiga!" From the sweater is where i get the sense that Photoshop was at work as my eye for shooped pictures is not the best, however the colors just seem over saturated to the point where the sweater becomes obnoxious. In fact the only reason I could even tell who this character was suppose to be was from the wig that looks like it was purchased off of ebay. If you feel my opinions are quite harsh, than I believe you are entitled to your opinion as i should be entitled to mine, however my opinion is that this cosplay scores a  solid 3.

For those of you who never knew Taiga, here is a reference picture.

Urban Secrets

Have you ever looked closely at the Super Mario Galaxy cover?
If you haven't heres a pic of it
Nothing is noticeably different about this box art compared to any other game right? Well thanks to some people who enjoy staring and breaking down the elements of box art they noticed some letters are marked with a little yellow twinkle. these letters are in exact order U R M R G A Y. If you break it down line by line then you get UR MR GAY. Thats right folks, its blatant and in your face. If you still cant see it just look above^.

Does this in fact mean anything? Not really, is nintendo trying to send you subliminal messages? Not in the least, so take pleasure in sweet coincidence and get a chuckle out of it.

Casual Corner

Today in Casual Corner we will be looking at the break out hit in the itunes app store, "Game Dev Story".

This charming little app is somewhat of a simulation type game in which you are a fledgling CEO of a brand new video game developing company. Here you control who you hire and what direction you take your games from genre and archetype. The progress and scores of your games are all dependent on the cleverly named staff, such as Ann Deroid and James Kirby, that you employ yourself. As time progresses hopefully you and your super team of developers will be able to move up in the gaming world and not only gain a bigger office, but even develop your own system!
My branch is not Newb Friendly...Your Fired!

The game paces quite quickly in the development of games and overall in the world. Players have the options to take on small jobs for larger companies, or to go head on and create their own game.Success relies on the skill of your workers or on paid outside help. Your job as a CEO determines how well you can advertise your merchandise and collect a large enough fan base to send your company sky rocketing to the top!

Events such as the game show awards and the game convention allow players to get a little competitive against their computer adversary companies, and captures the excitement of becoming a big name powerhouse.

This isn't ment to be a hardcore gamers dream game, but I do promise that it's slight pun on well known games, consoles, and people in the gaming world will bring a little smile to your face.
Sony's Blackmarket rip off will be quite the hit i hear!

Overall I found the music to be quite catchy, the graphics to be charming, and the game itself a joy. In my book if you enjoy video games there is no reason why you shouldnt give Game Dev Story a try.

To close the development of this review, I'll give Game Dev Story a 9 out of 10.

Some people seem to agree with the number 9

Cosplay of the Week (Chun Lee)

Note: After experiancing how hard it is to actually get to write a review on anything on a daily basis I have decided to change cosplay of the Day to Cosplay of the Week.

Today we have an exceptionally well done cosplay with a twist. I'm sure many of you had done something for Halloween and dressed up in costumes, but we all know that cosplay itself is suppose to go deeper then simply putting on a costume. Today's cosplay is none other than the Lightning Legs Chun Lee.

It's clear to see that this Cosplayer had put a lot of attention into detail and it had payed off well, everything is classic with this costume, from the traditional blue color, to even the lace up boots. I will say however that I'm glad the cosplayer decided to go with original Chun Lee over track suit Chun Lee. This is because dear readers this is crossplay, yes my friends this Chun Lee is a trap.
Either way the Cosplay was done well and in this case earns an 8 of 10.

Interested in a Map Pack?

Honestly folks I hate seeing when game deveolpers try to sell their audience a map pack. Though I have huge love for the Halo franchise the need for bungie to release a map pack is dissappointing for me. I dont mind the fact that new maps are coming out what but what bothers is me that they charge $15-$30 for these, in actualality, very small updates.

The fact that players can download other player's maps, screen shots, and clips, from file share system shows that downloading a map pack from  something like a bungie master account should be doable. However due to the success of sales from the ealier map packs do companies feel like they can get away with charging such a ridiculous price.

As players we are then punished from not purchasing the map packs by blocking players from competing online as they might not have maps that other players do. In other words the company is saying, "Thanks for buying our game no if you would to continue playing with the world you have to pay us mooooree money mwhahahahahaha!"

I'm not going to say we should stand against and say "Dont buy it and it will go away" because the truth is that enough people will buy it that it will continue to happen. However if you part of the bungie community voice your feeling perhaps. I know thats where I'll take my arguement.

The Fall Season

Sorry I'm sure most of you have already seen what the fall season has to offer, since were already in week 5 of it, however some of you  might know whats going on. So to keep everyone on the same page here are some of the newer works in the Fall Season.

For a better view of the chart click this link: 2010 Fall Chart

There seems to be an uprising trend with the somewhat Echi (slightly perverted) material of anime as "To Love-Ru is making a return along with the other appernt Echi anime from the list. However the excitment is overwhelming to see that "A certain Magical Index" has return with a season 2 (Not only that but an OVA of the dynamic female Railgun)! Also what is that I see? An American hero makes his debut in the anime scene with Ironman, could this be an epicly epic series or will it fall flat? Lastly the card game Battle spirits continues to push its marketing with it's self titled anime "Battle Spirits:Brave".
I'll do my best to watch and review as much of these anime that i can for you guys, however since the College Fall semester is also starting to come to a close, the preassures of finals approaches! However I'll be able to most definitely catch up during the winter break.
If there is a certain series that you would like me to focus on, please do name the title in comments and I'll make sure to show as much focus that I can.

Casual Corner

Though I like to consider myyself a "hardcore" gamer i cant help but feel that the casual game scene has greatly evolved into a legitimate source of gaming. It isn't as easy when you get older to sit down and play through games hours at a time as so many responsibilities, work, and studying starts envelope all of your free time. So how can i escape from it for a few seconds? By playing quick little games like peggle, plants vs zombies and other such works. Introducing "Casual Corner" where i'll play through great and crappy Itouch app games so you dont have to, and tell you which ones actually are fun enough to waste a little time on.

Catapult Madness Score: 8

Catapult madness is a traditional catapult game. Meaning you have a catapult and you try to launch whatever you are launching as far as possible. The story in this game is a kingdom is under siege by a troll army, the king would like to contact another kingdom for assistance however it is 50,000 ft away from his castle. He then has a catapult made in which he will fling a messenger to the neighboring kingdom to get help. Using well timed power ups and with a little luck you just might get their yourself! After you clear so many feet you eventually get more ideal subject to throw to cover greater distances. It isnt the most dramatic or story driven game, but it does give enjoyment with it's cartoony graphics and epic music loop. So I say if you have a little time and enjoy throwing endless peasants into space you yourself might want to give it a try. My only words of advice is, beans making you gassy can really make you soar!

Trust me kid your going to be a hero, I'll carve a statue or something in your name. Now stop holding onto the catapult for dear life or your going to mess up my shot!

Cosplay of the Day

This is a segment in which A cosplay costume will be featured.

Today's cosplay of the day is Link (Twilight Princess)

This is an extremely well done cosplay of the newest version of Nintendo's iconic character Link. Though the garbs are unfamiliar to casual player's of the Zelda series Link player's might remember that this generation of Link was given the familiar hero garbs, cap and tights and all, later on in the game. The cosplayer seems to have made this costume instead of bought it and therefore deserves major credit for his efforts. on a scale of one to ten this gets an nine.

Whats Being worked on

Currently I'm only watching the extremely popular anime series but that usually changes when my school semester slows down. I thought you readers might be intrested in what series i have already seen or are watching so here is my list.

Finished Works: Bamboo Blade, Claymore, Evangelion, Cowboy Bebop, Full Metal Alchemist, Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood, Gurren Lagann, Tora Dora, Ichigo 100%, Code Geass, The Meloncholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, Pokemon( along with the orange island and Johto), original Digimon, Dragonball (Z and GT as well), and many other ones that really didnt make it big haha.

Working on: Angel Beats, Naruto, Bleach, Fairy Tail
Though i know the new seasons of anime are listed i havent quite taken a look as to what new series will be out but I will get back to you n those.

So thats as far as anime goes.

Currently in gaming my finances havent been the greatest but i've still managed to play some of the games. Due to the fact that Halo Reach is what most of my friends are on, I find myself playing that the most. However I am doing a throwback onto my Playstation 2 and playing Persona 4 as well.

Game reviews will tend to be slower since it takes some time to complete them, but i'll probably review one within the next week.

Thanks for reading and Break Limits out there! (I'm working on a catch phrase aha)

Welcome

Hey there and welcome to Limit Break,
Some of you might have stumbled here by accident but let me assure you it was fate that you ended up on my page. Chances are you care about video games, anime, or anything in general that deems the term nerdy or geek. However those are not negative terms around here, instead its encouraged! I'm pretty new to writing about these activities but I hope that you come to enjoy my reviews on such activities and decide to stay and maybe leave some feedback. Until I can really get a foothold on this I wont really have a tentative schedule of how this blog will work but lets experiment and enjoy where it takes us. Well I'll catch you next time with something a bit more interesting to read!
